Google Analytics recently unveiled a new feature called “Cross Device Reporting.”
What is the purpose of “Cross Device Reporting”?
It is meant to understand the journey customers take across their device as they interact with your website. It will help give you a more complete view of the impacts of your marketing and will help to create more tailored experiences for your customers.
Prior to this new cross device feature, visits to your website from different devices would appear as two separate sessions, one on desktop and one on mobile.
Many times people will perform initial research via a mobile device and then later convert on a desktop.
This way advertisers will know to promote the initial research website pages via a mobile device.
Where to find the Cross Device Report
You will soon be able to find the Cross Device report which will show:
- Device Overlap
