The outage commenced around 11 a.m. Eastern on Friday, January 26, 2024 with an escalation in the number of reported technical problems later in the afternoon. The peak of reported service incidents exceeded 14,500 shortly before 2 p.m., according to data from the outage tracking tool DownDetector. In a Friday update on Microsoft 365 Status, the official account for service incidents related to the company’s office products, it was mentioned that a “networking issue impacting a portion of the Teams service” had been identified.
