GroupM Appoints Alexandra Chabanne as CEO to Propel Ongoing Transformation

GroupM, the media investment group under WPP, has announced the appointment of Alexandra Chabanne as the CEO of GroupM France, effective from November 6, 2023. In this new role, Chabanne will spearhead the ongoing transformation of GroupM France, leveraging the organization’s value across the entire media investment spectrum.

With a wealth of experience exceeding 15 years in leadership and over two decades in digital, marketing, and media, Chabanne brings a unique blend of expertise to her new position. Since 2016, she has served as the COO of GroupM France, playing a crucial role in developing digital, data, and content offerings.

Chabanne’s impact extends further, as in 2017, she assumed the position of CEO at MediaCom Paris, now known as EssenceMediacom Paris. Here, she led the agency to success, securing major clients and establishing a Parisian hub. Under her leadership, the agency expanded its reach into diverse industries such as luxury, retail, technology, and new economy businesses.

Josh Krichefski, GroupM EMEA and UK CEO, expressed confidence in Chabanne’s appointment, stating, “Alexandra’s entrepreneurialism and leadership experience make her perfectly suited to lead our business in France and support our clients’ growth in the French market.” He highlighted her ability to drive change and reinvention, aligning with GroupM’s strategic vision for the evolving media landscape.
